Melanie.17. New York. don't worry, I have a life and don't sit on my ass all day...well most of the day. nevermind. oh my backround picture is my grandfather! <3 interests: violin, tennis, singing, HISTORY (hardly anyone knows that about me... people are shocked when you find out. I'm a girly girl on top of it all), WWII, BAND OF FREAKING BROTHERS,TITANIC, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, THE PACIFIC, PEARL HARBOR, THE O.C felt the need to put that in caps. I post all of that stuff. so follow me if you like any of it:) I would like to achieve many goals in life; they are- be somewhat famous (I'm so serious), be rich and happy, have a beautiful sexy gorgeous husband, be at least 5 feet tall. almost there. move far away from where I am, preferably NYC or a beach. ![]() |
love that I’m watching a local PBS show called “WWII:USO Memories” veterans reflect on music of the era… and they start showing interviews of local wwii vets and this one guy comes up and my mom see’s it and she goes “oh T-T, Dad knows him!” my dad is like you should go meet him! He is so nice… lol this might be the way to get 90 year old wwii vets as friends for me… hopefully I’ll see a neighbor on this show!
RIP Easy Company Veteran, Ed Joint.

Has anyone heard of it? They take WWII vets, and others to the memorials, in D.C and such as, that they wouldn’t be able to see because they weren’t able to make a trip there. it’s a great thing.
now, I’m wondering…do they need volunteers? THAT WOULD BE THE GREATEST THING EVER
there was a local wwii Screaming Eagle in the obituary section in my local newspaper today. I probably used to pass him in the mall at times…wish I could have met him!
Rest in peace Easy Company veteran, Clancy Lyall.

Found a box of my grandmas old hats from the 1930’s and 1940’s. had to try them on of course. this was my fav! It even had all the lace stuff. so cute! don’t mind my hair…. I put it up and had to take it out to put the hat on so it’s a little messy
This is one of the most haunting photos I have ever seen. It is hundreds of wedding rings that were removed from those in Concentration Camps.
just got back from seeing Red Tails.
let’s see. I thought it was going to be an okay movie. but you know what? I thought it was excellent. They got the point across and portrayed everything perfectly. the beginning is a little “oh gosh what is this” then you get into it and it’s good. I give it a 7.5/10. I recommend it!
they have a WWII Paratrooper pocketknife on etsy. OMG DO WANT
Whenever I think about Wade dying, I feel like someone is slowly ripping my heart out.
So Nalle’s post made me curious to see if any more photos of Ross dealing with his recent project had been posted - well I did some digging and I...
The other one I found. They had downloading disabled like that would stop me.
Ross McCall and Joelle Carter in a still for It’s Not You, It’s Me.
4 generations of service in the United States Navy.
I happen to still be doing my math study guide, so I thought I’d share a lovely picture of my binder.
I took this photo after the Memorial Day parade in front of the Media Courthouse yesterday. My mom was talking to the WWII veteran wearing this hat...
Goddamn the opening music for The Pacific gets me every time.
